Owners of the new all-electric Porsche Taycan will have access to charging at Electrify Canada’s network of fast charging stations across Canada, included in the purchase price of their new EV.
“Every Porsche is a sports car with soul, and the Taycan’s soul is electrified,” said Marc Ouayoun, President and CEO of Porsche Cars Canada. “The burgeoning Electrify Canada charging network will allow future owners of the first all-electric Porsche to free themselves from range anxiety making their drive on some of Canada’s most iconic roads even more rewarding.”
The agreement between Porsche Cars Canada and Electrify Canada gives new Taycan owners three years of complimentary 30-minute charging at Electrify Canada charging stations (subject to certain terms and conditions), which has committed to 32 charging stations across Canada in 2020.
The stations will be located along on or near major highways and metro areas in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec., including some at select Canadian Tire stores.
The Volkswagen affiliate’s charging stations will include a DC charger capable of providing levels of power up to 350 kW, with , on average, three others capable of charging at up to 150 kW. The Taycan’s maximum charging power is 270 kW, which will provide a charge up to 80% in up to 22.5 minutes (depending on the battery’s state of charge).
Porsche Taycans start at $119,400 (Taycan 4S), with the Taycan Turbo coming in at $173,900 and the Turbo S at $213,900.
