Porsche says it will host the world premiere of "a compact sports car" at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28, along with the North American premiere of the 911 Carrera 4.
For "compact sports car" read "the next-generation Porsche Cayman." As with the original, it will continue to be based heavily on the Boxster, which was itself recently redesigned.
Accordingly, expect the new Cayman to be both smaller and lighter but also roomier inside.
The new 911 Carrera 4 made its world debut at the Paris auto show in September.
Both new models are important to Porsche in the U.S., which is the company's largest market, worldwide. Its sales in both the U.S.and Canada, are steadily growing – up 23% from last year in this country, through the first 10 months of 2012.
