2017 Ram 1500 Night

Ram embraces the dark side with a special edition factory customization for its 1500 full-sized Sport pickup it calls Night.

As expected from something called Night, the exterior look is heavy on the blacked out details, including black grille and grille surround, black headlight and taillight surrounds, black badges and 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels. The look was first seen on the Black Express version of the Ram 1500 back in 2013.

“Much like our incredibly successful Ram Rebel, the Ram 1500 Night fills the growing customer demand for factory-custom trucks,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand, globally. “Truck enthusiasts want vehicles that define their personality and style. The new Ram Night package builds upon the Ram Sport – one of the best looking trucks on the road – and adds black-out details that custom truck enthusiasts revere.”

The Night edition is based on the Ram 1500 Sport, which means body-coloured everything — front and rear bumpers, side mirror housings, and door handles. The black-rimmed head and taillights are also part of the Sport package.

It comes in regular, extended cab and crew cab configurations, in rear or 4-wheel drive, with either the 305-hp 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 or the395-hp 5.7-litre Hemi V-8, and is painted Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black, Flame Red or Granite Crystal Metallic.

Inside, the Night edition features high-back heated power adjusted front seats, heated steering wheel, power adjustable pedals and dual zone climate control, all of which are part of the Sport package. It will naturally also accommodate all the usual Mopar customization options, including the lighted and lockable RamBox cargo management system, dual purpose bed extender/divider, air suspension with load levelling and driver selectable ride modes, and running boards, among others.

Production starts in the fourth quarter of 2016 in Warren, Michigan. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date early in 2017.
