Ram heads into 2018 with its final special edition Sport variant for the year— the Ram 1500 Hydro Blue, with monochromatic appearance and custom details, joining the previously launched Sublime (green) and Copper Sport, in addition to the 2017 Ignition Orange introduced in late 2016.
“The custom look and high-impact colors have been well received in the marketplace and this new Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport will surely stand out on dealers’ lots and in customers’ driveways,” said Mike Manley, head of Jeep & Ram brands. “Enthusiasts demand that their trucks get noticed, and our Ram 1500 Sport lineup delivers a durable, powerful alternative with great visual appeal.”
Included in the appearance package is a Sport performance hood with black decals, a body-colour grille with black billet inserts, and extensive black accents — Ram grille script, headlight bezels, side and tailgate badging, and optional wheels (standard bright aluminum). Optional upgrades include black tubular side steps (also available in chrome) and the RamBox storage system in the pickup bed walls.
The interior matches the exterior’s black and blue motif, with Blue Sport stitching and embroidery on black touch surfaces, steering wheel, door trim and seats (optionally in leather). The instrument panel also features blue anodized bezels, as do the vents, centre console and door inserts.
Power is delivered by the 5.7-litre Hemi V-8, and upgrades include the Active Level air suspension, and ParkSense parking assist system.
Production run is limited to 2,000 units, with the Hydro Blue pearl exterior paint also available on Ram 1500 Sport crew cab/short bed models equipped with the 5.7 Hemi. Orders can start being placed this month.
