Fiat Chrysler’s parts and accessories division is hard at work developing add-ons for a wide variety of FCA vehicles and the latest to get the aftermarket treatment is the 2016 Ram 1500 full sized pickup

The Mopar Custom Shop has scoured its catalog to create the limited edition Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel, based on a 2016 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab, its first ever modification in the truck segment. Upgrades include 17-inch satin black wheels, wheel flares, cat-back exhaust, body graphics and more. Only 500 will be produced.

“We are excited to team up with our friends at the Ram Truck brand to offer the first limited-edition Mopar vehicle for full-size truck enthusiasts,” said Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA – Global. “The already formidable Ram 1500 Rebel is a perfect canvas for unique Mopar accessories and performance parts developed to reinforce the rugged personality of the Rebel.”

Available in Brilliant Black or Flame Red/Brilliant Black duo-tone, the Mopar ’16 customization enhances the factory Ram Rebel with an aluminum, dual bezel sport performance hood with matte black graphics, off-road wheel flares, and a bumper height blue/black stripe (with MOPAR cut out at the trailing edge of the rear doors) that flows from front wheel-well to front wheel-well around the tailgate.

Other features are functional and stylish — a black front bumper skid plate (in place of the standard silver fitment), 17-inch satin black wheels, and stainless steel door sill guards (with the Ram logo on the front ones). And, of course, there’s the required limited edition number plate inside (on the globe box), as well as a unique metal “birth certificate” that highlights specs, date of build, and the proprietary number, all included in a Ram-branded tool bag.

“The new Ram Rebel has been a solid addition to the Ram lineup, providing customers with a truck that can deliver the added capability that their active lifestyles demand,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “The Mopar '16 content illustrates how customers can easily personalize a Ram truck with factory backed accessories."

Among the factory goodness is the 5.7-litre Hemi V-8 controlled by an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, front suspension skid plates, tubular side steps, sprayed bedliner, and a tri-fold soft bed cover.

And for those who need more than the Mopar package bits, there are optional accessories available — a cold air intake to improve horsepower, and a cat-back exhaust for a more aggressive exhaust note, for example.

Arriving in US and Canadian dealerships in summer 2016, the Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel is priced from $62,760 in Canada ($52,460 in the US).

The’16 Ram Rebel is the latest Mopar customization, following the Mopar ’10 Dodge Challenger, Mopar ’11 Charger, Mopar ’12 Chrysler 300, Mopar ’13 Dart, Mopar ’14 Challenger and Mopar ’15 Charger R/T.
