In a press conference this morning, at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada announced that the Subaru Legacy has been chosen as the Canadian Car of the year for 2015.
Candidate vehicles were evaluated in a rigorous program that involved testing cars back to back on public roads, closed course dynamic testing and static evaluations of interior and exterior components. Fifty new or significantly different cars were evaluated by more than 70 journalists over five days of driving, to narrowed the list to the final four.
Traditionally there are three finalists, but there was a tie among those rankings. The four finalists were the Mercedes-Benz C class, Subaru Legacy, Hyundai Genesis sedan and Volkswagen Golf.
Following the same testing procedures with the addition of an off-road testing section the AJAC evaluated the new or significantly different Utility Vehicles, a category that includes pick-up trucks, to select the Canadian Truck/Utility Vehicle of the Year.
The three finalists were the Ford F150, Subaru Outback and the Porsche Macan.
