Toyota says it will reveal an all-new sedan next week at the 2012 New York International Auto Show.
Beyond the fact that it was designed in the U.S.A., and a teaser image, the company has revealed no other details about the premiere, which is expected to preview the next-generation Avalon, due this fall.
Toyota says its "exciting new design features an elegant yet athletic look," and the teaser suggests something dramatically more avant garde than the current Avalon.
Based on that sketch, it appears to have a sleek fastback roofline, akin to those on the Audi A7, BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe, Mercedes-Benz CLS and Volkswagen CC.
The public will have an opportunity to participate in a live-streaming video chat with the designers of the new sedan by submitting questions via Twitter and Facebook with the #ToyotaDesign hashtag.
The Toyota Design Live chat is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT on April 5, 2012, and hosted on http://www.facebook.com/toyota.
