Enthusiasts gathered for a North Carolina ZDayZ event got a big thrill this week when a surprise guest showed up: the 2015 370Z NISMO making its world debut.

The newest NISMO features refinements inside, outside and under the hood, as well as expanded model selection including a new Tech grade.

"NISMO is the heart and soul of Nissan performance, both for the track and on the street, so it's fitting that we are showing the dramatic new 2015 370Z NISMO for the first time at a gathering of our most loyal and enthusiast owners," said Nissan Chief Planning Officer and Executive Vice-President Andy Palmer. "The new 370Z NISMO joins the recently introduced Nissan GT-R NISMO and Nissan Juke NISMO RS, giving performance fans a range of fresh, factory tuned NISMO models to enjoy."

Its GT-R-inspired revised exterior optimizes front and rear downforce with a more aerodynamic shape, deep front fascia with LED Hyper Daytime Running Lights, black headlight bezels, NISMO emblem and red stripe accent on the integrated chin spoiler. The stripe continues down the side sills and black sideview mirrors across the lower portion of the redesigned rear fascia. The NISMO-unique rear spoiler is smaller and reshaped. Its 19-inch super-lightweight forged aluminium-alloy wheels have also been restyled with a twin five-spoke design and charcoal gray machine finish where once it was silver.

Exclusive Recaro black and red leather seats with Alcantara accents spruce up the restyled interior.

The new Tech model adds a hard-drive based nav system with touch-sensitive 7.0-inch display, rearview monitor, Bose audio system, Sirius radio, streaming audio via Bluetooth, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and HomeLink universal transceiver.

It remains powered by a 350-hp, 276-lb.-ft. 3.7-litre DOHC V6 with an exclusive tuned H-configured exhaust design.

Two transmissions are offered for the first time: a close-ratio six-speed manual featuring SynchroRey Match, the world's first synchronized downshift rev-matching manual for a heel-to-toe-ish experience, and a newly available seven-speed automatic with downshift rev matching, adaptive shift control, and manual shift mode with paddle shifters.

The model, available this summer, comes in Solid Red, Magnetic Black, Brilliant Silver and Pearl White.

ZDayZ is an annual Z-car enthusiast event that draws performance Nissan fans from all over North America. This year's event continues until May 19 at Fontana Village Resort in Fontana Dam, N.C. Activities include a car show, exhaust sound-off competition, 5/10K race, group dinners and multiple group mountain road drives.
